Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrical Technician is responsible for the plant’s automated systems. It ensures that the equipment operates smoothly and takes part in equipment integration and reliability activities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Diagnose, identify and correct faults
- Carries out preventive and systematic maintenance
- Refurbish or modify existing equipment
- Participate in the installation and start-up of new equipment or systems
- Participates in decisions and suggestions for equipment modifications
- Analyzes reliability problems and makes recommendations to optimize equipment performance
- Updates documentation, plans, drawings and procedures
- Works in collaboration with electromechanics
- Performs all other related tasks as requested
Minimum requirements
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Automation and Control, Industrial Electronics or equivalent (Asset: Knowledge of mechanics)
- Electrical certificate (Licence C) or in the process of obtaining one
- Experience 4 years
- Knowledge of: Allen-Bradley PLC, Siemens, servomotors, variable speed drives (VFD), PanelView HMI
